April 2016—Century Link Teachers & Technology grants awarded to Tom Richardson and Ryan Salway. Mr. Richardson will add aerial photography to his already rich photography program and Mr. Salway will begin recycling plastics towards his continuation of 3D Printing curriculum. Congratulations for bringing these exciting learning opportunities to MACCS students!

August 2015 – PNM PowerUp Grant. The MACCS Community will collaborate with the immediate Highland Neighborhood to design, create and construct a community garden on Adams St, just east of the MACCS campus.

May 2015 – Ryan Salway received the Century Link Teachers & Technology Grant. Mr. Salway will add 3-D modeling and printing to his already rich Animation curriculum.

2010, 2011, 2012, 2016 – McCune Foundation Grant – Media equipment purchased and productions created that highlight issues facing today’s youth, such as drug abuse, poverty, and education. In 2016-2018, MACCS will partner with Amy Biehl High School to create collaborative, student-led productions that focus on Community Outreach Media and Community Service Learning projects. Both of these initiatives are missions of MACCS and ABHS respectively.

October 2012 – Jessica Krichels received the National Artist Teacher Fellowship. A printmaking component was added to the MACCS Art Program.

June 2013 – Anthony Conforti received the CenturyLink Teachers & Technology Grant. Best practices in NM public education will be highlighted and filmed.

October 2013 – Blake Minnerly received the National Artist Teacher Fellowship. Original songs were created by MACCS Audio students that address bullying.

April 2014 – Glenna Voigt was selected as a New Mexico Fellow in the inaugural class of the WK Kellogg Foundation Community Leadership Network. This three-year fellowship will focus on sharpening leadership skills, sharing experiences, and collaborating with other NM fellows and non-profits to bring issues and solutions concerning NM’s youth into awareness via media productions.

June 2014 – United Way Hispano Philanthropic Society Grant. Middle School students at MACCS will produce peer-to-peer media productions that will bring teen voices to MACCS TV to address issues and challenges that affect their daily lives.

July 2014 – PNM PowerUp Grant. The students at MACCS will collaborate with the immediate Highland Neighborhood to design, create and construct a community open space on Adams St, just east of the MACCS campus.

August 2014 – Public Education Department Workforce Readiness grant. MACCS will partner with CNM & NMPA to increase career and college options for our students.
